Hello! My name is Ela Aspegren, and I am a high school student living in New York City. I started my literary blog in 2024 as a way to spread my love of writing to all my readers. My sites goals are to inspire and drive the creativity of others, through my poems, stories, and experiences. I find my motivation from the parts and people of my life who are most important to me, those things principally being my family, religion, and ballet training.
My family of a Turkish nationality carry such warm hearts of kindness, and if it were not for this love that I was given, my writing would lack the same compassion that I place in it. My anne, father, teyze, dayi, anneanne, and dede have always taught me to be thoughtful in my words, movements, and Muslim practices, and such learnings I have carried into my writing and literary blog.
Ballet has always been a very special piece of my life, as I have been dancing since I was young. Even though it’s a part of my life that has stayed stagnant for so long, my ambition and drive for the practice has never stopped.
Through my intense ballet trainings, I have not only learned classical technique, but the courage that discipline, grace, and perseverance puts on ones shoulders once solemnly achieved. I have put these principles of ballet in not only my training, but in every other division of my life.
As Dante Alighieri once said,
“My course is set for an uncharted sea.”
I believe that all faiths are sealed and yet to be known, but I hope in each of my readers lives, my pieces of writing can direct or redirect somebody into the path that they will soon set sail on.
